The prime objective of the museum is to be educational in a modern and interactive environment.

To achieve the above, the museum should include: a library, lecture-room that can be adapted for public courses on literacy, etc., a conservation department, hands-on area, a shop for the sale of books and relevant memorabilia, and an area where members of the public can freely and informally obtain information on items in their possession.

The time is ripe to draw these initiatives together and focus them upon a museum devoted to the collection and conservation of equipment relating to and examples of all written aspects of human social communication, before such communication is itself lost to history.
